Earbuds Case Fire Kit (video)

This video just goes to show you really CAN put a fire kit in anything, even an old earbuds case. 🙂 Personally, I would prefer an Altoids tin for the size and because it’s likely more waterproof than an earbuds case, but I like the effort. That said, you might be able to fix those old earbuds before tossing them and using the case for this idea.

She’s added a good variety of fire starting supplies and gear, including fat wood, lighters, stormproof matches, “trick” birthday candles, various fire starters such as live fire, and something I’d never knew could catch fires… guitar pics.

Though a lengthy video it’s a good one to take the time to watch through if you have any interesting in cold weather camping…

I’ve found that you generally get what you pay for and though this knockoff wood gasifier stove is no SilverFire Scout that he keeps referring to (retails for over $70 on their website) and it’s certainly not a Solo Stove which I recently raved about, for less than $20 it’s not a bad backup option either, perhaps for your vehicle or just to have around the house.

And while most of the video is him just fiddling with the stove, he did say near the end that it needed about 20 minutes for a boil which is significantly longer than it took me to boil one cup using the Solo Stove. Regardless, for the price he suggests the Lixada Portable Wood Stove a good buy…
