Prep-Blog.com has a good article on The Effects of Radiation Exposure that may interest anyone near a nuclear power plant (you do know if you live near one, right?), as well as anyone concerned about dirty bombs or worse. I know the title says “retreats” but this article on Designing Your Retreat to Protect it Against Low Velocity Ballistic Attack is a good read about dealing with “low velocity” attacks, you know, things that aren’t shot out of a firearm. Figured I would post two related articles about dealing with pests in the garden: Here’s a nice post about Tiny Semi-Auto Guns for Self-Defense? that may help you decide if they’re right for you and what to choose. Here are several ideas on Gardening in a Drought that may prove useful to implement. This reminds of a book titled Gardening When It Counts: Growing Food in Hard Times that you may want to check out as well. Remember that prepping is about ALL aspects of “staying alive” which also means alternative forms of money should the need ever arise. This article on Prepping on a Budget: Affordable Items for Preppers, Silver Coins is a brief reminder of that fact. Another good article on How To Make Your Own Bar Soap if you’re so inclined. This Emergency Sanitation and Hygiene Kit article has some really good ideas about what you can and should do for emergency sanitation needs, from “super” cleaning supplies to saving shower water and more. This article on a Home made Mosquito Trap shows just how to make one, though, it’s a bit more complicated than what I’ve made in the past (usually just vinegar and sugar) so maybe it works a bit better. |
