[Katzcradul discusses a few problems as well as a few tips regarding canning on a glass top stove. Generally, manufacturers say you cannot do so on a glass top range because the burner might not be large enough to accommodate some pots, which may not allow the pot to get hot enough. Another problem is that doing so may cause the glass top to crack in some cases. If you're so inclined, follow Katzcradul's advice to avoid these problems... it's your call.]
