[SensiblePrepper discusses the obvious purpose of dry sacks: to keep your gear from getting wet! These are actually very useful for your bug out bags and, honestly, necessary. After all, the last thing you want is to encounter wet matches and clothing the one time you needed them the most; they're also useful for compressing clothing to reduce space consumption. I use an assortment of dry sacs in our bags and, in some cases, simple ziploc bags too. I highly recommend you work through your bags and ensure everything that shouldn't get wet is protected.]
