[This video briefly touches on several options for emergency lighting that may prove useful. He touches on a variety of devices from flashlights to candles and kerosene lamps. It's a good beginning primer for those who are not aware of what's available. In the middle of the video he discusses purchasing a small solar panel, which is a good idea, but goes on to explain that he choose not to include a battery or battery bank because it was not necessary; while I think it is possible to recharge some devices without a battery, I wouldn't recommend it. Most devices require--and expect--a specific voltage and current range to function properly; a battery helps to provide the power required when the solar panel cannot. It is important and I wouldn't attempt to recharge most devices without a battery in-between the solar panel. Otherwise, it was a good overview video.]
