New eBook Available (and Process Feedback Request)

[EDIT: This process has since been modified due to unpopular request. icon sad You can learn more about the changes I have made here. Please be aware the the Share and Get It! tool referenced below is no longer available. Thank you for your interest and comments.]

Hello all. I have just created a new eBook for free download titled The Prepping Secret Nobody Talks About that I would like some feedback about.

Specifically, I would like to know about the download process as I am making the eBook ONLY available for download via Facebook or Twitter.

You can get your copy if you use the download link on the right sidebar. Look near the bottom of the sidebar content for: Get “The Prepping Secret Nobody Talks About” eBook Today! heading and click on the Share and Get It! image below that. I will eventually move this content up higher (I think) but that’s where it is for now.

After clicking on the Share and Get It! image, you will then be presented with the option to Like my Facebook page or Tweet and then download the eBook.

Although I’m happy to have feedback about the eBook what I really want to know is how this process of using Facebook and Twitter to distribute an eBook goes and if there are any problems. While I’m more interested in Facebook than Twitter I’m happy to have feedback on both.

And for those who already Like! my fanpage, you can navigate to facebook.com/rethinksurvival and click on the Welcome page where you’ll see a link to download it; all non-fans will NOT see this content.

Thank you for your feedback in advance! -Damian

The .PDF doesn’t seem to be working . There is a 3rd party app called iCexcel for mac users to read excel files . Like all things computer , it depends on your OS version if you can use it .

    • I thought PDF files could be read on Windows and Mac PCs? I’ll see if I can get it to work on a Mac soon. And thanks for the heads up on the Excel file; only problm is that it requires macros to work.

  • T.R.

I dont have , nor will ever have a social media account . Many preppers don’t either . Mac users can print to .pdf as a function if its all in one area . Just sayin

I hate facebook and twitter! Blah, blah blah. Just kidding. I am having trouble with the facebook download. I was already a fan of the site on facebook and when I try to get the download it just tells me to log in and approve. However when I proceed to log in, there is nothing to approve.

Couldnt get it off twitter keep looping….. U should just post it on yur site

  • Tony

No major problem with clicking “Like” but I do not like having the message posted on my account. Therefore, will wait until I can obtain with more confidentiality.

  • Bev

I too do not use twitter or facebook. I think you are limiting a potentially valuable resource by making it only available to those users. Perhaps for a couple of weeks, then put it on your regular site also.

Having gotten a copy of the ebook, I can say that there is a lot of valuable information and food for thought in it. I would definitely recommend this ebook to anyone interested in preparedness! :)

    • Thanks for the positive comments, Bev. I figured some people would significantly disapprove of only making it available on Facebook or Twitter but I was just trying out something new. I figure people can’t complain too much, after all it is FREE and they don’t have to do it!

Im sure it does , he has a lot of very good ideas .

Did not work, did post the ‘share link’, but when I clicked on the ‘Share & Get it’, it simply looped that I need to log into facebook… which I already and almost always are. Not sure how to continue. As for Twitter, I do have an account, it’s linked to my facebook, but I never use it.

Hopefully this test will help to provide some information for you to improve your overall processes.

    Take care,

Did not work for me. Liked you non Facebook but it never let me download. Seems like a semi-broken distribution system. You have people trying to get the book who cannot. I understand why you want to use Twitter and Facebook, but you implement this better.

  • Linda n Texas

For ops sec, many of us prefer not to use either facebook or twitter. They are monitored two closely by big brother.
I think that use of them to distribute your book would be improper.

  • Ron

Sorry Cameron – I got into some endless loop of jumping back and forth from facebook to your site and was not able to download your book. There has got to be a simpler way. Make it a free book on Kndle!

  • Jill

    Worked fine for me.

  • Rick

Did not work, couldn’t get the book.

    • Can you elaborate? If using facebook, you could also go to facebook.com/rethinksurvival, click on the Welcome page, press Like! and then be able to download the eBook.

  • Bob

I do not use twitter of facebook

  • cameron

I refuse to do ether twitter or facebook, so won’t read or later buy your book.
