What has happened to Cold Steel? They used to make a really quality knife, but everything I read about this one says cheap chinese junk. I still have my first Cold Steel Tanto, which I paid $100 for and would not trade it for anything. Back then (probably 20 years ago)they knew how to make a knife. When you start looking for a good qualitity knife, $25 will not get you one. Knives are one thing that you get what you pay for.
Have to disagree , the one I have is only two years old and put through horrible and unusual abuse . I bought the same knife for my nephew on christmas , his , like mine was razor sharp out of the box and He is also hard on knives , not as bad as I am , but still . 1055 carbon is tough stuff , cold steel also guarantees their knives . China or not , its a good product if your not expecting anything fancy . I also have two other cold steel products , the Sptsnaz shovel and pipe hawk , both have been well used and neither have let me down . I’ll be one of the first to say a product is junk , not one of these three is junk , but rather very good , strong , tools for the money .
