Here’s another neat home remedy, the Master Tonic Recipe. According the the linked post, “Master Tonic is a natural remedy for any number of infections – it can cure far more than just the common cold. What a great fantasy. Magic elixir/snake oil cures everything. Wouldn’t that be wonderful. But unless you line in Disneyland you cannot believe in this? We used to tar and feather the snake oil salesmen I think we need to return to that practice.

    • I think there is something to be said for the natural anti-viral/bacterial/fungal properties of many natural substances. People have been using nature for their ails far longer than antibiotics. That said, is this tonic recipe any better? I don’t know. I have the same concerns as you about stuff like colloidal silver but many people swear by it (and other remedies). At the very least we can become more aware.

First of all , no you cant RELY on just one form of medicine , BUT the ingredients in this one are proven throughout the centuries ( some over a millennia ) to cure or treat certain things. Secondly , as such , YES , it would be good in maintaining general health . Thirdly , ALL herbal meds take much more time to do the job than refined pharmaceuticals , so regular use of such a product could actually prevent certain illness . Our ancestors didnt have the things we do , but they weren’t stupid either , and there is reluctant acknowledgment by the medical community that some items do in fact work .

      • Regular use of certain foods with disease prevention in mind is a thought that handn’t really crossed my mind. WHile we do consume many of the ingredients listed in this recipe here and there, we’ve never done so regularly. At best, we cosume the occasional garlic pill or other natural ingredient to “boost” our immume systems when we’re feeling ill… maybe we’ve got it all wrong and need to be taking this stuff all the time???
