Prescription Drug Expiration Dates (link)

I think this issue is pretty much put to rest but here’s an article discussing if prescription drugs are still safe and effective to use past their expiration dates. Here’s the first part of the post:

“Do drugs really stop working after the date stamped on the bottle? Fifteen years ago, the U.S. military decided to find out. Sitting on a $1 billion stockpile of drugs and facing the daunting process of destroying and replacing its supply every two to three years, the military began a testing program to see if it could extend the life of its inventory.

The testing, conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, ultimately covered more than 100 drugs, prescription and over the counter…”

    WELL, AS WITH THE ERRANT LABELING OF CANNED FOOD, THIS IS ALSO WELCOME NEWS TO ME! I think that I already knew this about drugs. I had some prescription medications in a first aid kit in my SUV that I totally forgot about. They were in there for several years. Anyway, when I found them, I used them and they worked just fine.
