Everyone has their opinion on which knots are the most useful, and I’m sure I do as well. This video discusses three—bowline, straight lash, and trucker’s hitch—that he believes are the most useful for every outdoorsman. Would you agree?
More importantly, I suggest having a quality reference of knots in your home library as well as an app on your phone that includes the basic knots, even if it’s only a survival guide.
And, of course, you should have some rudimentary experience of knots in your brain…even if it might take a while to shake them out after years of neglect. 🙂 With that in mind, get out two pieces of rope and follow along…
