I’m sure you’ve heard of botulism before. It’s that super nasty, deadly disease that will kill you in a instant! Well, maybe it’s not that bad, but it could require hospitalization and prompt medical treatment; the problem is that these services may not exist when SHTF or other major survival scenario occurs. Thus, it’s best to prevent such problems, which is why knowledge is key.
In the following video, she discusses five proven ways to stop botulism before it starts. These include keeping food cold (preferably frozen), killing the spore with high heat (via pressure canning), store foods using preservation additives (e.g., vinegar, salt, sugar), dehydration (no water, no growth?), and killing the toxin with high heat (cooking at 185 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-10 minutes).
