We live in a pier and beam home. Since the home is 3’ above ground, would storing water under the house be a good idea?
It’s hard to say whether storing water under the house is a good idea, but I have a few reasons as to why it might be a bad idea. For example, what happens if the house is damaged and now your water storage has been compromised or is inaccessible? Or, what happens to your foundation if a large water container (e.g, IBC tote) unexpectedly ruptures? I would suggest you first try to store water away from the home’s structure if possible, just in case.
