World’s Best Fire Starter?

Who doesn’t love a claim, like, “the world’s best fire starter?” Is it the best? I don’t know, especially when compared to the egg carton fire starters that I’ve grown accustomed to. In any case, here’s a video showing how you only need paraffin wax, lighter fluid, and cotton pads all of which are very inexpensive:

The plus side of the above fire starters is that they’re very compact. You could pack a dozen of these in your bag without even noticing. So, for backpacking purposes they might be the better option.

Regardless, I went looking for a video about egg carton fire starters, and happened upon this one that uses paraffin wax, but also uses pet litter bedding, something I haven’t seen before:

Now, the following is a video of what I’m more accustomed to seeing done and what I’ve used myself. This idea combines egg cartons, melted candle wax, and free dryer lint, something we all just toss into the garbage:

Last, if you want to make Vaseline and cotton ball fire starters, why not make them even better by sealing them in drinking straws? Doing so makes them waterproof and easily manageable for backpacking use:
