Prepping Items to Get Before They’re Gone

I keep hearing about Trump’s coming tariff wars (and some concern about weather) causing quite a few useful items and grocery store supplies to be either very expensive or difficult to acquire. The problem is that these can be very broad categories, so I include the list and some examples below each video.

  • Imported food: bananas, avocado, coffee, cocoa, sugar, and tropical fruit
  • Furniture and home goods: desk, couch, chair, bed
  • Lumber (from Canada)
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Large batteries, like solar backup batteries
  • Technology products: television, smartphone, gaming consoles, and much more
  • Machinery and vehicles: not just the completed machinery, but repair parts
  • Plastics: so many items rely on plastics, especially consumer goods containers
  • Tires for vehicles
  • Other: clothing, shoes, boots, and much more
  • Grocery store items: flour, toilet paper, can fruits, cooking fuel, cooking oil, pasta, coffee
  • Water filtration systems

Concluding Thoughts

I’d say the takeaway here is to stock up on anything you can’t do without, such as medications, over-the-counter pills, and specific foods that we import heavily. It can’t hurt to stock up on supplies that you wouldn’t want to do without, like cleaners and hygiene items, which often come in plastic bottles, too. After all, you never know what you’ll need in the future no matter what happens to the price. Finally, if you know you’re going to need new tires for your vehicle or plan on building a shed from scratch, consider making those larger purchases sooner rather than later.

Ultimately, nobody knows what the future holds, what prices will be, or even whether the items you’ll need and want will be available. Do what preppers do best: plan for the future!

Sadly, most people can’t think of alternatives or to reuse, repurpose, refurbish, recycle or repair things. They’re too ignorant, lazy and narrow minded because their programmed to just use, abuse and buy new stuff.

For some, if they don’t have all the comforts and conveniences, they are helpless. I have no problem using a bucket toilet, but some people think it’s primitive nor do they care to store water or the many things that preppers would put effort into.

I don’t use lots of sugar or salt, but I do have some. And I have survival gear to create multiple kits. My concern would be for the more costly items like car parts and such. I think now is the time to fix all the bicycles we have and maybe even motorize a few.

Best Christmas gift now would be books and even videos so people can learn how to keep living and be more self-sufficient, and have water, food, build solar batter banks, build or buy things, use solar, make compost, preserve food and so on.

I’m more a proponent of the Bees.

Bullets, Beans, Bandages, Bacon, Booze, Bullion, Bible.

I’m certain there are a few more Bees others can add to that list and are welcome to do so as it benefits the community at large.

The Arrs can be valuable as well.

    Reuse, Repair, Rebuild, Recycle.

Hope that gives a little food for thought and lets us think more outside the box.
