You might be surprised that a simple electric blanket is perhaps the most efficient way to keep warm when the power goes out. Granted, you’ll need a way to run it, which is one more reason why you want a small off-grid system like a solar generator or power inverter. But of all the ways to keep a few people warm through the night with minimal investment, an electric blanket is the way to go. For what it’s worth, they also make 12-volt blankets, which could be even more economical depending on your situation. And if you want to be the most efficient possible, then just get a single person electric blanket and huddle real close. 🙂
