For those preppers who prefer hard copy editions of books, which include most people, the second edition paperback of 47 Easy DIY Survival Projects is now available on Amazon.
For what it’s worth, I chose to avoid the major holiday selling season of Black Friday and Cyber Monday because it’s a frenzied mess, and I didn’t want to launch a new book by spending a small fortune on advertising. As you might suspect, rates for sellers go through the roof this time of the year! But, honestly, I don’t spend much money on advertising anymore.
So, what’s new?
Well, the second edition got a big overhaul. I went through the entire book, replaced about a dozen projects, reorganized it better, and updated my thoughts and added several photos.
New projects include (to the best of my memory):
- Tarp rainwater catch
- Bottle-in-bottle water heater
- Super cooler (better insulated cooler)
- Wonderbox cooker
- Paint can heater
- Box fan filter
- Handwashing station
- Oral rehydration solution
- Disinfecting wipes
- Garden sprayer shower
- Bucket survival kit
- Blackout curtains
As a result, a dozen projects got removed, and I’d say it makes for a better compilation of useful survival projects.
Thankfully, most projects are fairly easy to accomplish once you get the supplies needed. We cover water, food, cooking, safety, health and hygiene, evacuation, and more.
Understand that the skills you need don’t materialize out of thin air. And you don’t get good at them without practice. Worse, many of the supplies you’ll need to complete these projects may not be readily available after a disaster.
As with all things related to preparedness, you really should get these types of projects done before you need them. Or, at least, you should have the information available should worse come to worst. But you surely already know that. 🙂
Feel free to read the book description if you want more details.
Enjoy!
