Survival Blueprint Workbook, Volume 1- Your Thoughts?

Back in January, I’d asked if anyone had interest in me turning The Survival Blueprint into a workbook. We’ll, I had enough of a response (and because I couldn’t think of anything more interesting to do) that I chose to give it a go.

So, I worked on it here and there and I’m finally done … with volume one. Yeah, that’s about half of the original book this workbook is based upon. Like I said initially, I was afraid that a 200+ page workbook would be too much for most people to actually take action, so I split it into two volumes. (Volume one alone of this workbook is 110 pages, if I remember correctly.)

To be clear: this workbook follows The Survival Blueprint book chapter by chapter. Volume one covers Parts One and Two on beginning and intermediate survival actions; volume two will cover what remains.

Although I haven’t published this workbook yet, if you’re interested in a copy, just email email by the end of this month and I’ll send a PDF version. Thankfully, the workbook is 8.5 x 11, which means you should be able to print it out on plain paper. Or you can wait until I publish the workbook, too.

And if you haven’t seen what I’m doing, here are the original PDF pages I created in January, though there were some changes between then and now, for you to get an idea of what I’m trying to do:

A few concerns that somewhat bother me:

  • I couldn’t get all of the chapters to fit on a single page, like I did with the original book. Thus, some of the chapters spill over onto a second page.
  • The program I use to format books isn’t really designed for nonfiction, and certainly not for workbooks. Thus, there’s some unused white space, especially at the top, that I can’t reclaim.

Do these concerns bother you as much as they do me? I probably won’t (or can’t) fix them, but the German in me demands uniformity!

Of course, I’ll let you know when I publish volume one, but I suspect that I’ll probably wait until I’m closer to finishing volume two before doing so.

In the meantime, and assuming you request a copy, look over volume one and tell me what you think of the idea. If it’s a winner, I might make more workbooks.

Thanks!
