I like the forward-thinking of products like these, but I’m not sure that this DIY idea is for most people. First, the fact that it appears to just “plug right into the wall” outlet via extension cord is misleading because there’s more that needs connected at the breaker box, including interacting with the mains wires, which I absolutely recommend you have a qualified electrician do. Second, there’s no way this is “legal in all 50 states” given the protections that are expected, and rightfully so, for line workers from off-grid power. Third, the setups I found on their website are rather expensive for what’s provided, in my humble opinion, though it’s possible I’m not fully understanding what you’re getting. In any case, I’d almost recommend you buy a solar power generator from Amazon and be done with it. That said, it can hurt to see what’s out there. Enjoy!
