I know a lot of preppers talk about backup power as being crucial (specifically Lithium batteries) and it is, but they’re not perfect. Sometimes bad things happen no matter what precautions we take. And sometimes it’s the product/technology itself.
Considering that most of what’s available for purchase (e.g., solar power stations, server rack batteries, portable power banks) is manufactured in China, who, let’s face it, doesn’t always follow the strictest of safety protocols, may leave us preppers more vulnerable than the average public because we tend to stockpile a range of Lithium batteries that “normal” households do not.
The following short video discusses precisely this problem, and more importantly, what The Urban Prepper is doing to combat it. What are your thoughts on the battery safety? Is there anything you’re doing that wasn’t covered? I’d be interested to know for myself!
