I’ve long been interested in doing some sort of underground shelter, but never bothered in large part because I have no idea what I’m doing. Besides, it’s a rather expensive prepping project, so I’d hate to get it wrong and waste a bunch of money or, worse, endanger my family. As DIY projects go, burying a shipping container is a big ordeal. And as the following video explains there are so many things you can get wrong! I’d suspect that there are plenty more potential problems once you really get into it.
Personally, I suggest that you stay away from such ideas unless you want to hire someone who truly know what they’re doing. And if you’re willing/able to hire someone then you should be looking to purchase a real underground shelter and NOT a shipping container.
