$15 DIY Yeti Cooler Clone: Save Hundreds Making Your Own!

Have you thought about buying a really good cooler, such as this Yeti Tundra cooler, for an upcoming camping trip or general preparedness? Well, maybe you shouldn’t, at least, not until you watch the following two videos because, as it turns out, you might be able to make your own “Yeti cooler clone” for MUCH less and get about the same results (which is shown in the second video below).

In fact, all you need are an inexpensive cooler (which I’ll assume you already have, but here’s an example), a can of Great Stuff insulating foam, a pair of spring-loaded latches, and some foam weatherstripping, all of which can be had for about $15, excluding the cooler.

The first video shows how to insulate the lid, and the second shows installing the latches and foam weatherstripping; he also does a test of three coolers for comparison purposes. Enjoy!
