Ebola talk seems to be everywhere these days. Sadly, I’m sure there’s plenty of misinformation, lots of educated guesses, and plenty of pure speculation.
Alex Smith (of whom I’ve reviewed another book titled Getting Home: Making it Back to Your Family After Disaster Strikes) is currently offering a new Kindle eBook titled Ebola: Understanding and Preparing for an Outbreak on Amazon for a limited time. I believe the price will rise to $3-4 soon.
The book includes several chapters that cover the history and “need to know” info regarding Ebola, what’s going on in West Africa, signs and symptoms of the disease, a lengthy glossary of terms, as well as what to do if there’s an outbreak in your area and even a full-on epidemic. You’ll find details on disinfection, sick rooms, quarantine procedures, and plenty more.
I read through the book this morning and I’d say it’s a good read if you want to truly get better educated about this threat currently looming over us. Overall, it’s good advice on preparing for a quarantine scenario, in general. If you don’t currently have a good plan in place Ebola: Understanding and Preparing for an Outbreak will help you figure it out.
