About two months ago, I really started to despise being outside because my allergies have been horrible. So, I stopped taking care of the garden and almost everything else outdoors. Thankfully, my youngest son and father-in-law (and my wife to a point) kept up with mowing, which I’ve always disliked. Honestly, yard work has been going rather well for me since then. 🙂
But, as with all neglect, stuff gets out of hand before you know it. Case in point, our greenhouse:

Yes, those are tomato vines that have literally taken over. There’s a walkway down the middle, shelves in the back, and an exhaust fan that’s completely covered. The thing is that I haven’t watered the entire time, and they still grew like weeds. The unfortunate part is that there were very few tomatoes as a result.
I was actually going to transplant them into the garden, but earlier attempts didn’t work out so well, probably because I tried too late in the season. So, I got lazy and left the rest of the plants in the greenhouse.
Now that I’m feeling better, I pulled everything out, wheeled off multiple wheelbarrows of vines, and once again have the makings of a greenhouse:

It still needs some additional cleanup, but at least I can find the garden beds again.
The takeaway?
Don’t start something you’re not willing/able to finish.
Maybe also don’t plant tomatoes with the intention of transplanting them, knowing full-well they would take over if you don’t.
And certainly don’t get allergies. They’re horrible.
