Pocket Survival Kit for Normal People

I’ve made my fair share of these pocket survival kits over the years. Truth be told, I don’t carry them any longer since I carry the necessities in other ways (e.g., I carry a pocket knife in my pocket and extra cash elsewhere) but I still like the idea of DIY kits like these, especially for those who are on the go a lot.

That said, most kits I see touted for newbies and seasoned preppers alike are for wilderness survival, often including a variety of items that the typical suburban prepper would never find useful. And while I don’t entirely agree with everything included in this kit–the button compass stands out as generally useless–I find the contents in the video below more useful than most.     Try mason line for cordage. It is approximately the same diameter as bank line and is rated to 48 lbs of tensile strength.
