Results After 7 Years With a Pop Can Solar Heater

You know what surprised me the most about the video below? That he spent hundreds of dollars to make it! The entire point in these is to use scrap materials so the costs are minimal. And while he doesn’t tell us what he spent the money on, which you can find in the video description, he does go through the build process fairly well. He explains what worked well and what didn’t, including that he used the wrong foam insulation because it vaporized!

As for answering the question: does a soda can solar heater really work? The answer is: absolutely it does. He says it could be 20 degrees outside but 50-70 indoors, just with the solar can heaters. That’s awesome! If you can make one for significantly less than he did, then I say it’s well worth the investment.
