DIY Rodent Bait – Only 3 Ingredients

I always appreciate homemade alternatives, though they don’t always work well. But according to this guy (he’s a pest removal expert), this idea works great! It uses primarily two parts baking soda and one part cornbread mix. For mice, add a bit of syrup or honey and some cocoa powder for sweetness; for rats, add some bacon grease or beef tallow because they don’t like sweets.

You can skip to about the 2:15 mark to get to the start of the discussion of the mixture. Most of the remainder of the video is about placement of the bait. He also recommends the Protecta EVO Express Bait Station for use with this idea so that no other animals can get to the mixture. Personally, I would DIY my bait traps for most locations, but for those areas that must remain exposed, get a quality bait station for safety. Enjoy!
