Immune Boosting DIY Elderberry Syrup

Although I didn’t use the specific brand in the video–we purchase ours locally–I made my own elderberry syrup in a very similar fashion for the first time just the other day. It’s really easy to do, just boil the berries in water for 30-45 minutes, strain, add honey, and store in the refrigerator.

And, although you can purchase your own premade elderberry syrup online, you can get more for your money if you get a kit a make it yourself. In fact, I would just look for the syrup and kit at a local health food store too. Then be sure to take the recommended dosage each day to help boost your immune system! Heaven knows we need all the help we can get these days.

One cup of Elderberries has 27 carbs so adding honey to a syrup makes the count even higher. 15 carbs within a 6 hour period is the max one should consume so as not to spike blood sugar and cause insulin resistance.
