THRIVE Scrambled Egg Mix

Eggs, along with dairy (such as cheese, milk, etc) and meat are among the more important foods to include in your food storage but are also difficult to add yourself. That is, it’s not very easy or recommended for safety reasons to try and dehydrate eggs or cheese, for example. Commercially-packaged options are without a doubt the best way to store these foods. This is where foods like our Scrambled Egg Mix really shine.

That said, you can certainly use our Scrambled Egg Mix as part of your daily lives too. Personally, I feel foods like this are more valuable as part of a long term storage plan but I do know people who choose to use this mix instead of eggs:

To use, add two tablespoons of egg mix powder to three tablespoons of water for each egg desired:

Here’s what it looks like while being cooked:

And this is the finished eggs (if there’s any extra water leftover just dump it out):

Ultimately, the Scrambled Egg Mix tastes pretty darn good. In fact, I’ve done these a few times and I doubt I would be able to tell the difference between these and the fresh eggs we eat. 🙂

It seems I’m not the only one who thinks they taste good. Here’s some reviews:

These Eggs Rock!!!
I have never been disappointed by Shelf Reliance yet. And they came through again. I already liked the powdered eggs, but, these are the Best! I opened the can right away after it was delivered this afternoon. Mixed up an egg added some salt and pepper and some butter in the pan and wow! These things are great! Will be ordering a couple #10 cans ASAP! You would never know they were powdered.”

Pleasantly surprised!
Had to order more after trying these eggs! They taste just like fresh!! Thrive comes through again!”

Awesome!!!! Just like fresh!!!
These eggs are incredible!!!! I was very hesitant to try them, but my downline Lora gave me 2Tbsp to try. I added 3Tbsp hot water to the 2Tbsp of the scrambled egg mix, stored it in a paper bowl & microwaved it for 1 min, broke it up with a fork & microwaved it for another about 15seconds. They were awesome!!! I just ordered a pantry can case of them this afternoon!”

Try some of our Scrambled Egg Mix… you’ll be glad you did.

I’ve just received, whole eggs, cheddar cheese, butter, whole milk and grain for grinding….oh, a brownie mix ( it’s been opened and used; very good ). Next order will include scrambled eggs, another brownie mix ( promising to store for emergencies )and more whole milk. Thumbs up! I guess you can imagine the extra secure feeling, knowing that if the Stuff Hits…, food won’t be a big problem.
I’m on a fixed income, but if something happens, …no income, so preparation is vital.

    Thank you for being there!!

    1. Kathryn, Glad to hear you’re enjoying Thrive foods as much as I am. The fact that they can store for dozens of years is one of the many benefits of freeze-dried foods. More importantly, you can now safely store precisely the foods that most people fail to, that is, the foods which provide the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that the body needs to stay healthy… I failed to do this for years but am glad I now found an answer.

As for the foods you’re choosing, that’s a great start. Personally, I feel that you need to store foods like butter, milk, cheese, etc because we’re so accustomed to eating them it will be a serious wake-up call if/when we run out. 😉 Sadly, these foods are hard to store! You might also consider vegetables, some fruit, and perhaps some meat if you eat it and the price ever comes down.

With regards to the grain, that’s great too but a lot of people tend to buy grains and not have any idea what to do with it or don’t have the equipment such as a grain grinder to make use of wheat, for example. If these apply to you then I would suggest NOT starting with grains and to focus on the other foods instead. Also, if you happen to live anywhere near an LDS Home Store Center then by all means contact them and try to buy your bulk foods (wheat, rice, beans, oats, etc) there because you will NOT find a better price on these foods.

I know you’re on a budget so you do need to consider the price you’re spending on foods. Though Thrive isn’t necessarily the most expensive company they’re not always the least expensive either. You really do need to shop around and pay attention to deals. Freeze-dried foods in general aren’t cheap so bear that in mind.

With regards to specials, as much of a fan of the Home Store delivery option (of which I’m a part) it would behoove you to really pay attention to our deals, specifically Unadvertised Specials which often offer the BEST pricing on our food. If you subscribe to my monthly newsletter (you can signup here: http://rethinksurvival.com/newsletter/) then you’ll be sent a link to the Unadvertised Specials. If interested, you can email me and I can help you place an order. Sadly, that isn’t something you can do on your own.

Let me know if you have any questions. Take care, Damian
