THRIVE Creamy Garden Vegetable Chowder

You could choose to eat this Thrive Creamy Garden Vegetable Chowder either as a lunch or dinner for two or as a side dish as we did the other night:

Thus far we’ve been very happy with every Thrive Life Express package we’ve tried; heck, even my kids usually wanted more which isn’t normal of most new foods we try! And, as much as I would like to say it was wonderful right out of the package too, it was missing something. More on that in a moment.

Here’s the backside of the package with nutritional info and more (you can also see the nutrition facts here):

Cooking is super easy as with any Thrive Express meal. Just bring 3 1/4 cups of water to a boil and whisk in contents of package (remember to remove the oxygen absorber first), then reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes:

When done, let stand for 5 minutes and you end up with a hot and relatively tasty meal:

The package made enough for two large bowls or four smaller bowls like the above. Like I said, this one wasn’t much of a hit as my kids tried it but I don’t think they finished their bowls and even my wife complained but she wasn’t feeling well that day so who knows what the deal was.

After tasting the soup, I tended to agree something wasn’t quite right and so I added some Nature’s Seasoning (which includes salt, pepper, and other spices) and wound up enjoying the soup for the most part.

While not the best Thrive Express meal we’ve tried, the Creamy Garden Vegetable Chowder wasn’t bad and may be a great choice for those who prefer vegetarian and relatively low-sodium options.
