THRIVE Express Wild Rice Pilaf – Tasty Side Dish

Not all Thrive Express foods are intended to be meals. This Wild Rice Pilaf makes an excellent side dish. In fact, we had some with fish and veggies and it went quite well. Here’s the front of the package:

And this is what it looks like still dry (before being cooked):

And this is the final product (it’s just put in the bowl for the photo):

I added a little bit of butter and some pepper (because I tend to pepper nearly everything) but my wife ate it as is and said she liked it… even my kids ate some which is not normal, especially if there are peas. Ultimately, the Wild Rice Pilaf is a good and tasty side dish and one that we’ll try again.

What I see for the wild rice is all Culls or the “D” Grade rice..
up to about 20 years ago that was just farm waste and never sold.
We farmed wild rice in the shallow ponds we had in Canada for over 60 years and would never sell anything that brown.. It’s sad to see the market go to hell like that and the public being robbed over such a product..

    1. Not quite sure what you’re talking about, Doug, but I do believe this side dish was quite tasty. 🙂
